The Short-Term Disability insurance through MetLife provides financial protection if you’re unable to work due to a qualifying illness or injury. This coverage offers a weekly cash benefit to help with everyday expenses like housing, utilities, groceries, and childcare while you recover.

Weekly Benefit: Replaces 60% of your weekly earnings, up to $2,500 per week

Benefit Duration: Up to 11 weeks

Waiting Period: Benefits begin after 14 days of disability

MetLife also offers services to support your recovery and help you transition back to work, including:

Important
If you previously declined this coverage and are now enrolling, you must complete and submit a Statement of Health (SOH) form to HR by December 8, 2025. Download the form here: 2026 Statement of Health Form
Note: You only need to complete one Statement of Health (SOH) form per person. The same form can be used for Voluntary Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability. There is no need to submit separate forms for the same individual.
